"And now, the end is near. And so I face the final curtain. You cunt, I´m not a queer. I´ll state my case, of which I´m certain. I´ve lived a life that´s full. I've traveled each and every highway. And more, much more than this I did it my way..."
The pounding music of Sid Vicious's early punk, cranked up to maximum volume, shook everything in the recreational room if not a few of the other rooms down the hall. Taylor McKenna sat in one of the sofa chairs, eyes closed, intently focusing on the beat. This was one of his favourite bands, but today his focus was not on the words, but the sound. Concentrating on the abilities deep within him, Taylor tried to time his breathing with the beat. It was difficult at first, but soon enough he was breathing in tune. From there it was a matter imagining his the air in his lungs rising through his body and under his skin. Of course it was all in his head, but that was the idea. He needed something more substanial than the idea of a 'super power' and breathing just came so natural, Taylor decided to make that his foci for this exercise.
Eyes shut tight in intense concentration, nothing else existed to him save for the beat of the music and the timing of his breath. With the idea of sensation of his breathing running all along his body, Taylor maintained that though while allowing his breathing to return to normal. The timing of his breaths and the beat seperated, but Taylor kept the beat central in his mind. It felt like the hair on his arms dancing to Sid's malicious melody. Slowly, he opened his eyes to see if this had worked. It was dim, but his skin was slightly aglow, pulsing faintly to the music. With a smile of satisfaction, Taylor closed his eyes, continuing the focus. The light from within his body grew brighter and brighter, expanding outward and retracting back in to the music. Taylor could feel the sound inside his head, and through his closed eyes could see the lights.
A great smile grew across his face as he fell deeper into his success.
